Meet The Team

Jonathan Wilkins
Jonathan WilkinsDirector
Jonathan Wilkins, company founder + Director, launched Select Representation in February 2012, following a successful 20-year career within the travel industry. He covered senior purchasing and sales & marketing roles at reputable companies, such as, Air Miles Travel Promotions Ltd (Avios), First Choice Group (TUI PLC), Hilton Hotels & Resorts and Miki Travel Ltd. After 2 decades of recommending other sales & marketing companies, it was now time to switch sides! By creating his own representation company, Jonathan has been able to utilise his extensive travel knowledge, industry connections and working experiences to the full. He is extremely well travelled having visited more than 80 countries.

Countries Visited:
More than 80 countries, with many of them visited multiple times. Including most of Europe, Asia, North America and the Caribbean. Still a lot to see in South America and Africa.

Unusual Travel Experiences:
Finding a rat in his suitcase in a hotel in Koh Samui, having police sniffer dogs drooling over his rucksack on the Thai / Malaysia border due to left over pizza inside, getting hosed down by the police for trying to sleep in Athens main railway station, losing his bank card in the cash machine in Istanbul and having no money at all on day one of a business trip (had to borrow from a hotelier) and…. many more stories to tell.

Favourite Place:
Too many to mention. There’s often a reason for liking or disliking a place!

Most Embarrassing Travel Experience:
Waking up at the time of departure for a flight from Nashville to Atlanta!

One Luxury When You Travel:
Music and headphones. Helps to cut out the noise from annoying people on flights.

Best Travel Advice:
Always book the aisle seat when flying.

Outside Of Travel:
Family man, dog lover and a season ticket holder of AFC Wimbledon (the real Dons!).

Last Holiday:
Fuerteventura, Spain.

Next Planned Holiday:
Krabi, Thailand.

Marcus Leach
Marcus LeachSenior Sales Manager
Marcus Leach, Senior Sales Manager, joined Select Representation in September 2012. After 7 years in retail management at Gatwick Airport, Marcus returned to his real passion of working within travel and tourism. Prior to joining, Marcus previously worked in a variety of sales, product and purchasing roles at Air Miles Travel Promotions Ltd (Avios) and is fortunate to have travelled the globe extensively, for both work and pleasure.

Countries Visited:
More than 60 countries, with many of them visited multiple times. Including most of Europe and Asia, South & Central America, the Caribbean …plus many different states in the USA.

Unusual Travel Experiences:
Orange picking in Greece, spending New Years Eve in Tehran, hitchhiking in Pakistan, travelling by ox cart in Java and singing with Whitesnake in Sofia.

Favourite Place:
Too many to mention. It would be far easier to list places not liked.

Most Embarrassing Travel Experience:
Losing his passport on a business trip in Berlin, which meant traipsing to the British Embassy to get a replacement, then later finding the original one by the bed, but it was too late as it had already been cancelled.

One Luxury When You Travel:
Air conditioning in a hot country. Stayed in many places without it, and been unable to sleep.

Best Travel Advice:
Always put a piece of paper with contact details inside your suitcase. If the baggage tag gets ripped off, it is the often the only way your belongings can be identified.

Outside Of Travel:
Cycling, reading, food & drink and supporting Coventry City (someone has to!).

Last Holiday:
Nevada & Utah, USA.

Next Planned Holiday:
Dubai for the Rugby Sevens.
