Koh Phangan is a stunning tropical island, located in south-east of Thailand (close to Koh Samui and Khao Tao) and is famous for its monthly ‘Full Moon Party’. This lively night-long party, linked to the lunar calendar, draws in party goers to Haad Rin and Sunrise Beach in big numbers.

However, there really is much more to this wonderful destination…. than parties!  Think beach, jungle, sunshine, clear blue waters, amazing sunsets etc.

It is important to understand that this infamous monthly extravaganza is only a one-night event and the rest of the month the island is the perfect chill out destination. Beaches are typically uncrowded and the island basically consists of visitors simply looking to relax or explore. So, the trick is to check out the dates surrounding the ‘Full Moon’ and take advantage of the reduced accommodation rates and quiet sandy beaches.
