VIBRANT CAPITAL WITH A COLOURFUL CHARACTER

Washington DC may be best known as the home of the US President, however, this exciting capital city has so much to offer visitors beyond the spectacle of politics. Our Director for the Americas, Kerry Sullivan, recently spent four days there and really loved what she experienced!

Kerry said: “DC’s districts provide a fantastic mix of cultures, experiences, food and entertainment. From Georgetown’s upmarket restaurants on cobblestone streets and Dupont Circle’s hipster coffee shops to the eclectic music scene of Adams Morgan, there really is something for every visitor.”

The city’s newest addition, District Wharf, has a mix of restaurants, hotels, bars and music venues, plus retail and residential buildings that will, when fully completed, stretch for one mile along the Potomac River.

The city offers the usual mix of bus & trolley sightseeing tours, however, alternative options include Bike and Roll DC, a super fun and easy way to visit and learn about all of the city’s meaningful monuments and memorials. The Potomac Riverboat Company has departures from Georgetown and District Wharf with a mix of sightseeing and water taxi choices available.

When visiting DC, guests from the UK and Europe have the choice of two airports; Washington Dulles Airport (IAD), located 26 miles away in the state of Virginia or Baltimore/Washington International, located 31 miles away in the state of Maryland.
