COUNTING ELEPHANTS!

The Wildlife Conservation Department has announced that all National Parks in the country would be closed from September 13th -15th 2019 in view of the scheduled island-wide elephant census, covering approximately 250 jungle locations across the island.

All the visitors’ bungalows operated by The Wildlife Conservation Department within the National Parks would also be closed during this period.

Enumerating teams totaling 4,500 participants comprising Wildlife Department officers, public servants, armed forces and police personnel and wildlife enthusiasts will take part in the field work.
