BIGGEST & BEST TRAVEL SHOW IN THE NETHERLANDS

Last week, Jonathan Wilkins and Lea Abbassi from Select Representation attended Vakantiebeurs. Regarded as the biggest and best travel show in the Netherlands, this annual b2b / b2c fair takes place in the city of Utrecht (30 mins by train from Amsterdam). It is actually one of the largest events in the Netherlands and purely dedicated to travel.
During the Vakantiebeurs, visitors have the opportunity to gather information about various destinations, travel providers, accommodations, and activities. This year the event was a great success and we have been informed that the number of visitors grew by 8% verses 2023.  The following breakdown of visitors is interesting to see.  Day 1 (trade day) = 8,150.  Day 2 (public day) = 12,913.  Day 3 (public day) = 15,601.  Day 4 (public day) = 18,139.  Day 5 (public day) = 16,319.  This 5 day travel show had a total of 71,122 visitors, which is someway short of pre-covid levels BUT continuing to grow back towards the ‘good old days’.

Vakantiebeurs features numerous stands and booths featuring travel companies (hotels / dmcs / tour operators), tourism boards, airlines, and other entities related to the travel industry. Visitors can move around the fair freely to collect brochures, engage in discussions with representatives, and find inspiration for their next vacation destination. Additionally, there are frequent presentations, workshops, and cultural events related to travel.

Our stand featured ‘Adaaran Resorts‘ in the Maldives and proved to be a very popular place to drop by for a chat about our 4 wonderful all-inclusive islands of Adaaran Club Rannalhi, Adaaran Prestige Vadoo, Adaaran Select Hudhuran Fushi and Adaaran Select Meedhupparu.  The usual discussions took place about diving, all inclusive inclusions, honeymoons and family vacations.  It was interesting to hear more and more people ask about combining more than one island. For example, Adaaran Club Rannalhi with Adaaran Select Meedhupparu, as well as, combining with a tour of Sri Lanka prior to the Maldives.

Next year, Vakantiebeurs will be again held at Jaarbeurs in Utrecht between 9th – 12th January 2025.  We look forward to seeing our Dutch friends there to discuss all things ‘Adaaran Resorts’.
